Treespeech World Music Ensemble
The expressive medium for composer, musician, and ethnomusicologist David W. Cobb, Treespeech World Music Ensemble explores musics from around the world through Cobb's original compositions. Sounds of the Silk Road meet American musical forms, the Far East resonates with the triple feel of West African rhythms, and stories of far places are brought to life through music for the audience to experience.
David is currently writing a suite of music that will follow a young man as he journeys and adventures his way across the Silk Road. For this work, David is drawing musical inspiration from Spain to China, and combining it with storytelling and art for a new live performance experience.
